Wood Pellet prices v/s Oil Prices (and investigative blogging)

Another fine example of how Tony McGinley earned my vote for Best Special Blog 2008"so what do you think is happening with the price of wood pellets? You got it — they are shadowing oil prices almost to the penny!!! This was not supposed to happen – do you remember? When they sold you that very overpriced pellet boiler, the main selling point was that you would save a fortune on fuel costs – what a load of bollix that has turned out to be!"

This is the kind of specialization and thought provoking investigation which blogging was ‘made for’ in my opinion. Best of luck in the voting Tony!

To be honest – I couldn’t agree more with your comment about the price of wood pellets shadowing the price of oil. The issue is that most people close the barn door when the horse has bolted i.e. domestic households only seem to take an interest in wood pellets after the price of oil has rocketed. Where the benefit is to be gained is to buy your wood pellet now and in bulk as a hedge against future oil price increases.
